The Cardinal Golf & Country Club is now under the umbrella of McConnell Golf Properties which includes Raleigh Country Club (Donald Ross), Raleigh, NC, Treyburn Country Club (Tom Fazio), Durham, NC,
and Musgrove Mill (Arnold Palmer), Clinton, SC.
Original architect Pete Dye returned to the Cardinal in 2006 to totally redesign the course, including greens, tees and bunkers. Pete Dye decided the greens would be A-4 bent grass with the bunker surrounds in zoysia for contrast. The yardage is 7002 yards and plays to a par of 70.
