The Cardinal Amateur is limited to seventy-eight (78) contestants, by invitation only. The tournament will have a representative number of college and mid-amateur players. Invitations will be extended based on:
1. Maximum handicap of 2.4
2. Competitive record/active participation
3. Major tournament accomplishments
4. Past Cardinal contestant
Should you wish to compete, please complete the resumé form on this website. Please include finishes in major tournaments and scores. Resumés should be received no later than June 1, 2010. The Selection Committee will review all resumés and, if approved, an invitation will be mailed by June 15, 2010.
Qualifying:
Unfortunately, our invitations are limited; therefore, we encourage you to attempt to qualify should you not receive an invitation. An eighteen (18) hole qualifying round has been scheduled at the Cardinal Golf & Country Club on Thursday, July 22. The number of available spots (maximum of 3) will be
determined by the size of the qualifying field. All entries must be submitted by July 15, 2010.
If you wish to attempt to qualify, please forward a check for $100.00 (includes a p.m. practice round on July 22), payable to the Cardinal Amateur. Please include a copy of your current handicap card (must have a handicap of 2.4 or less), address, age, and e-mail address. You will be notified by mail of your acceptance and we will provide you with additional details at that time.
Automatic invitations to the Cardinal Amateur will be issued to the top twenty (20) finishers of last year, major tournament champions, and consistent top finishers.
